Nirvana in Fire right holder scores 1.05 million Yuan win in Patent infringement case

Recently, a Beijing-based company who developed a TAKAGISM game called "Nirvana in Fire, the Power for the World" was ruled to compensate 1.05 million Yuan to DAYLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT (东阳正午阳光影视有限公司) for copyright infringement of Nirvana in Fire, one of the hottest TV series in China. DAYLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT, authorized by the writer of the novel called Nirvana in Fire, has the exclusive right to adapt, produce, and develop board games and derivatives by using the content of the novel. The TAKAGISM game inventor designs backgrounds, character names and relationships as well as main plots highly similar to the novel Nirvana in Fire. Meanwhile, the "Nirvana in Fire" logo was widely used in the plaque, props and the propaganda content of the game. Shanghai Yangpu Court ordered that the defendant to immediately stop the infringement, compensate DAYLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT for the economic loss and reasonable expenses of 1.05 million yuan, and post a notice in its store to eliminate the impact.
