The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has recently published the data on the cumulative number of invention patent applications, utility model applications and design patent applications filed through October of 2021.

Cumulative patents application filings are 3.52 million, up 18.1% month on month. By category, invention patent application filings are 582,901, up 41.2% month on month; utility model applications are 2,285,646, up 17.3% month on month; and design application filings are 652,010, up 5.4% month on month.
