Recently, police in Lin’an District of Hangzhou smashed a den of fake Huawei mobile phones. On the spot, more than 600 “Huawei” mobile phones, and a large number of used mobile phones and disassembled parts were found.

“These counterfeit mobile phones are sold at the price of new products through online shopping platforms and offline markets, with factory price of 1,000 Yuan and terminal price of 3,000 or 4,000 Yuan.” On July 25, Lin’an police officials said that the gangs produced and sold counterfeit Huawei mobile phones amounting to millions of Yuan.

According to the police, these Huawei mobile phones are priced at 3,000 or 4,000 Yuan at the shopping mall counters. However, it only costs 1,000 Yuan when sold in batches from counterfeit factories. After layers of price increase, the fake phones are sold to consumers at normal prices through all kinds of online shopping platforms. In fact, due to their off-standard technologies, these mobile phones might cause fire hazards and threaten the safety of consumers.

At present, 10 criminal suspects such as Jiang and Pan have been taken criminal compulsory measures against by law for suspected counterfeiting of registered trademarks, and the case is under further investigation.

The police remind consumers that first, choose legitimate purchasing channels, such as online official websites, official flagship stores of major e-commerce platforms and offline official experience stores and other stores; second, when purchasing goods, ask for formal invoices, pay more attention to the commodities with prices obviously lower than the market price, distinguish the genuine from the fake, and never buy fake products because of the low prices; last, report to the relevant departments whenever finding counterfeit products in your purchase.
