Japanese and South Korean Delegations Visiting China, Trilateral IP Exchange and Cooperation of Research Institutions will be Strengthened

Zhao Gang had a Courtesy Meeting with Japanese and Korean Delegations

Recently, Zhao Gang, deputy director of the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) of China had a courtesy meeting with Japanese and Korean delegations lead by Toshiya Watanabe, director of Journal of Intellectual Property Association of Japan and Son Won, director of South Korean Intellectual Property Office.

Zhao Gang introduced the reform of CNIPA and the latest news about the revision of Chinese IP laws. He demonstrates that Chinese government attaches great importance to IP and will strengthen IP protection. In recent years, IP has become more and more important in trilateral cooperation. Not only intergovernmental cooperation but also cooperation among private institutions is on the rise. IP protection is facing new challenges in the new era and requires cooperation between IP research institutions, seminar on common interests to promote research on cutting-edge issues. He also hopes that the cooperation can yield fruitful results and push forward dialogue and cooperation among the three countries in this field.

Toshiya Watanabe and Son Won introduced latest news about IP protection in Japan and South Korea respectively, hoping that the three countries can further discuss topics that all sides are interested in at this year’s International Symposium on Chinese, Japanese and South Korean Civil Institutions.
