Chinese medical product maker Micro-Tech reaches patent settlement with Boston Scientific

China’s medical product company Micro-Tech (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. announces that it reached a settlement with US fellow Boston Scientific Corporation resolving claims of patent infringement by Boston Scientific against Micro-Tech with regard to hemostasis clips for use in endoscopy procedures. The settlement resolves all worldwide litigation between the companies. Boston Scientific will grant a royalty-bearing license to Micro-Tech for five years on its patented hemostasis clip technology, and Micro-Tech has agreed to drop its worldwide challenges to the validity of the patents at issue in the existing litigations.


Three patents in dispute are United States Patent Nos. 9,980,725 (the “’725 Patent”) entitled “Through the Scope Tension Member Release Clip”, 7,094,245 (the “’245 Patent”) entitled “Device and Method for Through the Scope Endoscopic Hemostatic Clipping” , and 8,974,371 (the “’371 Patent”) entitled “Through the Scope Tension Member Release Clip” under the Patent Laws of the United States.
