China appoints its new Chief Judge of IPR

In April, China promoted Lin Guanghai to be Chief Judge of Civil Adjudication Tribunal No.3 (IPR Division) of the Supreme People's Court.

Lin Guanghai was born in China’s Guangdong Province in February 1964, with a Ph.D. in international economic law earned from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. He is on the board of directors of the Intellectual Property Law Association of the China Law Society.

Lin Guanghai served as Deputy Chief Judge and then Chief Judge of Civil Adjudication Tribunal No.3 (IPR Division) of the Higher People’s Court of Guangdong Province. He became a member of the Judicial Committee of the Higher People’s Court of Guangdong Province in July 2008 and Chief Judge of Civil Adjudication Tribunal No.4 in March 2010.

In November 2016, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Judge of Civil Adjudication Tribunal No.3 (IPR Division) of the Supreme People's Court of the People’s Republic of China.
