Claiming 99 million yuan! Bitmain Sued Yang Zuoxing and MicroBT for Trade Secrets Infringement Once Again

On April 9, Bitmain Technology Co., Ltd. filed a suit against Yang Zuoxing and his Shenzhen MicroBT Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen MicroBT Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing Branch for infringement of trade secrets with the Beijing Intellectual Property Court. The object of the suit was 99 million yuan. At present, the Beijing Intellectual Property Court has officially accepted the case.

The reporter contacted Yang Zuoxing on this matter. He said that "the response measures will be made public soon", and then hung up the phone. Bitmain and MicroBT are respectively the first and second-largest bitcoin miner manufacturers in China. In 2015, Yang Zuoxing joined Bitmain and participated in the research and development of ant mining machine S7 and S9 chips, becoming the most critical product of Bitmain. However, the issue of Yang Zuoxing's equity in Bitmain has not been settled all along. In 2016, Yang Zuoxing founded MicroBT, and the Shenma mining machine produced by him is trendy. In 2019, it counted for 35% of the total network computing power, becoming a strong competitor of Bitmain. But soon, after Yang Zuoxing's resignation, Bitmain launched several legal proceedings against him.

In 2017, Bitmain filed a lawsuit for infringement of technical solutions, but the China National Intellectual Property Administration did not support it. In 2019, Yang Zuoxing was arrested by Shenzhen police for the suspected occupation of 100000 yuan. People in the industry told AI financial news agency that this might be related to the dispute with Bitmain. In December 2020, Yang Zuoxing was released. Now, Bitmain does not intend to give up suing the competitor.
