The List of the Third National IP Service Branding Agency Releases

IP Service Senior Management Training Course was held in Beijing, hosted by China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS), All-China Patent Agents Association (ACPAA), China Trademark Association (CTA), China I P News and China IP Magazine(Fortune Today). Gan Shaoning, deputy director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Bi Nan, director of Planning and Development Department of SIPO, and Liu Jufang, deputy director of Planning and Development Department of SIPO attended the conference. During the conference, the list of the third National IP Service Branding Agency was released, and till now, the number of National IP Service Branding Agency has reached 138.

 

Gan Shaoning pointed out in his speech that the economy of China has changed from “high speed growing stage” to “high quality developing stage”, the important position of the intellectual property rights becomes more and more obvious. Gan Shaoning stressed that branding is the only road for IP service to extend and develop on the value chain. All the National IP Service Branding Agencies shall cherish the honor, strengthen good faith construction, observe professional ethics, keep on improving service quality, set a good example and deliver positive energy to build up a brand name for “National IP Service Branding Agency” in the industry. New selected breeding agencies shall broaden their horizons and innovate their ideas, establish cooperation mechanism to have a win-win and mutual outcome.

 

During the announcement of the third National IP Service Branding Agency, representative of the third parties - Zhang Jizhe, chief editor of China IP Magazine read out the Announcement of Releasing the Third National IP Service Branding Agency. There were 43 of them, and were certificated by the leaders in the conference.   

 

Since 2012, SIPO has chosen 201 IP service branding agencies from China and many measures were carried out to breed them. To enhance credibility and social influence, CIPS and other four institutions, being the third parties, jointly evaluated those agencies. During the conference, the list of the third National IP Service Branding Agency was released, adding up with the first and the second, the number of branding agencies has reached 138. The evaluation showed that the branding agencies had achieved good social and economic benefits and played the role of benchmarking model and leading model in the industry. And compared with before breeding, the average increase of professional staffs, clients number, contract funds, and operating income reached respectively 48%, 97%, 56% and 50% among those 138 agencies, which were well above the industry average.

 

 

 

 

Zheng Taiqiang, chairman of Lung Tin Intellectual Property Agent Ltd., being a representative of the third National IP Service Branding Agency, read out the proposal Building the National IP Service Branding Agency in China. He indicated that first, Branding Agency shall implement the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era to IP service. Second, they shall cherish the honor and keep integrity management, be the module of observing professional ethics, improve IP service and promote the development of IP. Third, they shall be people-oriented and keep up with time, have liberate thinking, and be brave to bring new ideas to build core competitiveness. And also, they shall be accurately oriented to strengthen brand building. Last but not least, they shall base on China with global visions, respond to the One Belt and One Road initiative, strengthen international cooperation and enhance the influence of China’s IP worldwide.

 

After the conference, there was an opening ceremony of IP Service Senior Management Training Course hosted by SIPO and undertook by China Intellectual Property Training Center (CIPTC).  Liu Ju fang , deputy director of Planning and Development Department of SIPO was the host.  And Wu Changqi , professor of Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, made a speech on the topic of “China-US Economic and Trade Relations under Economic Globalization”.

Professor Wu started with the trade friction of US imposing tariffs on Chinese goods recently. He indicated that it seemed to be a economic problem but deep down inside it was about technology and IP. He shared three aspects on the situation, cause and solutions of China-US economic and trade relations, development history and forecast of China-US economic and trade relations and the role of IP in this trade war and also in China’s economic future.

This conference invited not only the people of charges form Planning and Development Department of SIPO, CIPS, ACPAA, CTA, China IP News, CIPTC and China IP Magazine, but also the third National IP Service Branding Agency, the fourth National IP Service Branding Agency under breeding and others in total for about 150 people.
