CNIPA opened Acceptance Window in Chongqing to realize "One-window Operation" of Patent and Trademark Businesses

On February 22, as the first batch of provincial-level integrated business windows for intellectual property rights in the country, the Chongqing business acceptance window of the China National Intellectual Property Administration was officially opened and operated, realizing the "one window" and "one-time business" of patent and trademark business in Chongqing. It solved the problems of high cost and low efficiency in the process of applying for patents and registering trademarks in the past.

 

According to Chongqing Intellectual Property Office, the Chongqing business acceptance window was established on the basis of the Chongqing Representative Office of the Patent Office of the CNIPA, located in the acceptance hall on the first floor of the Municipal Intellectual Property Office. In addition to retaining the original business of the patent agency, the business of trademark acceptance has been newly added. New trademark services include: trademark registration application acceptance, trademark change, transfer, renewal and other follow-up business application acceptance, Madrid trademark international registration application acceptance, registered trademark exclusive right pledge registration application acceptance, and issuance of related paper trademark registration certificates, consultations of trademark acceptance-related business.

 

The person in charge stated that this is an important achievement by the Chongqing Intellectual Property Office in continuing to deepen the reform of decentralization, regulation and service, and optimizing the business environment. It is a significant achievement in promoting the reform of intellectual property registration facilitation and improving the intellectual property public service system. Active action is also a measure to benefit the people in the reform and innovation of intellectual property services and promote high-quality economic development.

 

According to reports, in recent years, the Municipal Intellectual Property Office has continued to deepen the reform of “delegation, regulation, and service” in the field of intellectual property rights. The time limit for patent and trademark registration has been greatly reduced, and trademark squatting and irregular patent applications have been effectively curbed. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the city's effective invention patents reached 35,000, and the number of invention patents owned by ten thousand people was 11.32, which were 2.8 times and 2.6 times that of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period; the total number of valid registered trademarks was 603,900, which is three times of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period; 160 well-known trademarks, 1.3 times of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan"; 276 geographical indications, 1.4 times the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
