2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo achieved intellectual property transaction 1.867 billion yuan 


It was learned from the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo Organizing Committee on the 21st that this expo achieved 1.867 billion yuan in intellectual property transactions, of which the total amount of patent and 

trademark transactions was 1.723 billion yuan, an increase of 15.97% over last year. The amount was 144 million yuan, involving 2,323 copyrights. 

It is understood that this expo has set new records in terms of exhibition scale, internationalization degree and transaction scale. The number of online exhibitors reached 2,469, which was more than eight times the size of the exhibitors of the previous offline expo. There was a total of 175 overseas exhibitors, displaying 17,000 pieces of intellectual property exhibits. 

Market participants believe that this shows that in the process of implementing innovation-driven development strategies, intellectual property transactions characterized by innovation results are stimulating strong vitality. 


Nation now leader in agricultural patent applications 


China has seen rapid progress in agricultural technologies in recent years and become the world's biggest applicant for agricultural patents, though more measures are needed to protect its agricultural intellectual property rights overseas, according to a report released on Friday. 

Chinese institutes and enterprises applied for more than 612,000 patents related to agriculture between 2015 and 2019, the most in the world, and the number of patent applications kept increasing by nearly 7.6 percent on average annually over the five years, said the report, released by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. 

Researchers analyzed agricultural patent competitiveness among 22 major countries advanced in agriculture by looking at factors such as the number of patent applicants, authorized patents and patent applications overseas. They found that the number of agricultural patent applications by China accounted for 62 percent of the total for all 22 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Canada.

On November 23, the "China Internet Development Report 2020" compiled by the China Cyberspace Research Institute was released at the World Internet Conference and Internet Development Forum in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. The report pointed out that China's network information technology has gradually strengthened its independent and controllable technology capabilities, 5G, operating system and other technologies have made breakthroughs. The number of artificial intelligence patent applications has surpassed the United States for the first time, becoming the world's first. 

The report pointed out that in the past year, China has firmly grasped the historical opportunities, accelerated the vigorous development of the Internet information industry, and continuously accelerated the construction of network infrastructure. The construction of new infrastructures such as 5G networks and data centers has developed rapidly.

It has distributed 2.17 million yuan in grants and carried out training to improve intellectual property capabilities.
