Fujian-Taiwan Intellectual Property Round-table meeting was held on November 13

The "2020 Fujian-Taiwan Intellectual Property Round-table" sponsored by the Intellectual Property Research Institute of Xiamen University and supported by the Fujian Provincial Intellectual Property Office was held on November 13th. More than 50 representatives from relevant departments and major universities and enterprises on both sides of the strait attended the meeting.

Affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the conference was held in the form of "Taiwan guests online + mainland guests offline". The theme of the conference was "Strengthening intellectual property protection and promoting high-quality economic development." During the conference, scholars and guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the hot and difficult issues of intellectual property exchanges and cooperation, and discussed the development of intellectual property service industry. Among them, Taiwanese guests such as Su Wentang, Deputy General Manager and Legal Counsellor of MediaTek, Lu Wenxiang, adjunct professor of the Law Institute of Soochow University, and Xie Guolian, Director of the Department of Finance and Law of Kaohsiung University, gave online reports.

Strengthening the protection of intellectual property has become an important means to promote high-quality economic development. With the continuous deepening of cross-strait economic cooperation, exchanges and cooperation in intellectual property protection have also been deepened. Lin Xiuqin, professor of Xiamen University Law School, dean of Xiamen University's Intellectual Property Research Institute, and vice president of the Intellectual Property Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society, said that Xiamen University and Taiwan have been cooperating and communicating in the field of intellectual property across the strait for years. In the future, we will continue to adhere to the dual-track industry-university cooperation approach, and to develop more extensive and more enthusiastic exchanges with Taiwanese scholars and industry insiders. Liu Kongzhong, a professor at Renmin University of China Law School, said at the meeting that he hopes that both sides of the strait can build a more in-depth and more profound cooperation framework around the field of intellectual property rights. This is not only a blessing for Taiwan, but also for the mainland, and for the benefits of the closely connected cross-strait of both sides.
